Rare Tomkins Shortwave Receiver/Frequency Converter
Tomkins Tunaverter, Model SWL
Converts 10 mhz - 16 mhz to 1500 khz (AM broadcast band)
Designed to easily install between car antenna and car radio, but can work with other radios as well.
Runs on its own power, a 9v battery
I used this to receive time signals at 10.000 & 15.000 mhz from CHU and WWV (time standards) to set our time pieces for sports car rallying in the late '70s.
