  • Condition: Very good used condition. Some tiny nicks along the left rail. No effect on playing. Hardly any tooth marks. Some ligature marks and discoloration from natural aging of hard rubber.

    Description

    Woodwind Co. of N. Y. alto saxophone mouthpiece, B5* in great used condition. Steel ebonite (hard rubber). This beauty was well used when I first got it from my teacher around 1968 or 1969, so it probably dates back to the '50s, maybe even earlier. That's a guess, of course. There are some tiny numbers on the side, visible in two of the pictures, that might help date it. I'm not able to. It has a big, full sound, yet has the ease of control you need, too. It's very responsive and free-blowing.
    I'm only selling it because I've found I do better with a smaller opening, and found a piece that really works better for me.
    Tiny little scratches and nicks, as is expected. Almost no tooth marks. See picture #4. You see discoloration from playing and age. Any light tooth marks are hard to see.
